We are seeking an experienced Packaging Mechanic with hands-on pharmaceutical packaging line experience. The ideal candidate is mechanically skilled, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast‑paced cGMP environment. This role is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining, and optimizing packaging equipment to ensure efficient and compliant operations.
Monday - Friday, 7:00am- 3:30pm, $29-$30/hr in Cranbury, NJ
Key Responsibilities:
Troubleshoot and repair packaging equipment including: unscramblers, desiccant systems, slat machines, vision systems, cottoners, cappers, retorquers, labelers, bundlers, and related machinery.
Perform equipment challenge tests, in‑process checks, and complete all associated documentation.
Set up, troubleshoot, and validate Systech Serialization (Level 4) and aggregation systems.
Support equipment installation and qualification (IQ/OQ/PQ).
Conduct scheduled preventative maintenance and perform equipment changeovers.
Monitor machinery to ensure reliable, efficient operation with minimal downtime.
Ensure all equipment operates in full compliance with cGMP requirements.
Document all work in logbooks, work orders, BMRAM, and batch records.
Maintain inventory of change parts and spare parts.
Troubleshoot vision systems, serialization equipment, barcode readers, and PLCs.
Collaborate with engineering to install, improve, and optimize packaging equipment.
Train Packaging Operators to reduce downtime and improve productivity.
Contribute ideas to improve equipment efficiency and throughput.
Qualifications:
Practical experience as a Packaging Mechanic in a pharmaceutical environment is required.
Ability to read and follow machine manuals, schematics, and technical documentation.
Strong computer literacy and ability to work independently.
Excellent communication skills and professional demeanor.
Strong critical‑thinking and problem‑solving abilities.
Ability to coach operators and maintain confidentiality.
Must be able to speak and understand English.
Education & Experience Requirements:
High School Diploma, GED, or Technical School Diploma required.
Associate’s Degree in Electro‑Mechanical Technology or equivalent certification preferred.
Minimum 2 years of pharmaceutical packaging line experience.
Strong mechanical aptitude and technical background.
Experience with PLCs, HMIs, pneumatics, servo systems, and electro‑mechanical machinery.
Knowledge of serialization systems.
Ability to interpret electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical drawings.
Must be able to gown and work in required protective gear.
Familiarity with cGMP standards is required.
