Material Handler – Full-Time
Virginia Beach, VA
SJS Industrial (veteran-owned) is hiring Material Handlers! We specialize in media blasting, industrial painting, powder coating, and light fabrication—supporting military and maritime work.
Schedule
- Monday–Friday
- 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM or 12:30 PM – 9:00 PM (day training required for both shifts)
- 45-min unpaid lunch + 15-min paid break
- Occasional Saturdays or evenings (project-based)
- Goal: consistent 40 hours/week
Pay
- $15.50/hour
- Opportunity for a raise upon permanent hire
What You’ll Do
- Prep & mask parts before coating
- Use hand/power tools (sanders, drills, impact wrenches)
- Hang parts for blasting, painting, powder coating
- Move materials between work areas
- Package finished products for shipment/pickup
- Follow work orders (“traveler” docs)
- Keep workspace clean & safe
- Follow all safety and quality standards
What We’re Looking For
- Reliable, team-oriented, safety-focused
- Strong attention to detail
- Comfortable with PPE
- Physically able to lift, bend, stand throughout shift
- Valid VA driver’s license (preferred)
- Forklift experience a plus (training available)
- Must pass drug screen & background check
