Schedule: Days, Monday - Friday. 6:00am - 2:30pm
Pay: starting at $18/hr
Position Overview
We’re seeking a dependable Pump Helper to support the pump shop with cleaning, prepping, sandblasting, and general mechanical assistance. This position is hands‑on, physical, and essential to keeping production moving. If you enjoy working with tools, staying active, and learning mechanical skills, this is a great fit.
Key Responsibilities
Clean, prep, and paint pump components and related parts.
Perform sandblasting to remove old coatings, rust, and debris from metal parts.
Assist mechanics with tear‑downs, assemblies, and general shop tasks.
Operate shop equipment such as sandblasters, grinders, steam cleaners, and basic hand tools.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace at all times.
Follow written procedures, complete required paperwork, and accurately document work performed.
Inspect parts before and after cleaning to ensure quality and readiness for the next production step.
Support miscellaneous mechanical tasks as assigned to keep workflow moving smoothly.
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical work (standing, stooping, kneeling, etc.) for the duration of the shift.
Must be able to pass a respirator clearance exam and fit test (company‑paid).
Must be at least 18 years old due to machinery and materials used.
Strong work ethic, reliability, and ability to stay focused throughout the shift.
Willingness to follow all safety rules and use required PPE.
Ability to read and follow written instructions, work orders, and procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience with sandblasting equipment.
Previous painting, coatings, or parts prep experience.
Mechanically inclined or prior experience assisting mechanics.
Strong self‑motivation and ability to work with limited supervision.
Good problem‑solving ability and steady, level‑headed work habits.
