POSITION OVERVIEW
The Manager, Contracts & Risk Management oversees the administration, negotiation, review,
and management of contracts and agreements to support the delivery of both programs -
Nurse-Family Partnership (NFP) and Child First (CF)- and broader business operations. This role
will manage organizational risks by identifying, assessing, and mitigating legal, financial, and
operational risks. This position works closely with internal teams and external partners to ensure
compliance and protect the interests of Changent.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Manage the negotiation and execution of contracts and agreements for NFP, CF,
vendors, and government entities.
• Maintain a centralized system for tracking contracts, including contractual
obligations, key terms, renewal dates, and compliance requirements.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure contracts align with organizational
standards and applicable regulations.
• Assess and manage organizational risk by identifying potential legal, financial, and
operational exposures and recommending mitigation strategies.
• Develop and improve internal processes related to contracts and risk, balancing
hands-on execution with systems-level problem-solving.
• Serve as a thought partner to staff, helping troubleshoot contract-related issues,
identify practical solutions, and strengthen risk-conscious practices.
• Support audit preparation and internal compliance reviews related to contracts and
risk management.
• Coordinate with external legal counsel as needed to address complex legal or
contractual matters.
• Stay current on regulatory developments and industry trends related to contracts,
compliance, and organizational risk.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, public administration, law, finance, or
related field; equivalent experience considered.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in contract or risk management, or a related function.
• Proven expertise managing the full contract lifecycle: negotiation, drafting, execution,
and compliance.
• Experience managing agreements with government entities, vendors, and service
delivery partners.
• Demonstrated success leading and developing direct reports to drive performance
and professional growth.
• Knowledge of risk management principles and their application.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills with careful attention to detail.
• Ability to interpret and apply complex legal and regulatory language.
• Ability to work collaboratively across departments and levels of the organization.
• Experience managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced
environment.
• Professional certification in contract management (CPCM), risk management (CRM),
or related field is preferred.
• Experience with Salesforce or similar contract tracking or CRM platforms is preferred.
• Familiarity with HIPAA requirements and Business Associate Agreements (BAAs) is
preferred.
• Ability to travel up to 10% annually.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This supervisory position reports to the Director, Finance & Administration and may have up to
6 direct reports.
