The Details:
Location: Baltimore, MD
Pay: $77.000- $95,000, based on experience
Schedule: Full-time, consistent weekday hours Monday- Friday
Industry: Construction/Engineering (experience preferred)
Reports to: CFO and works closely with Accounting & Finance team
Senior accountant job responsibilities:
Handling full-cycle accounting processes, including billing, AP, fixed assets, payroll, and reconciliations
Preparing accurate, timely monthly financial statements and journal entries
Leading month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities
Managing audit readiness and supporting external/internal audits
Assisting in tax filing preparation and ensuring regulatory compliance
Reviewing payroll and audit reports, ensuring all transactions are properly authorized and accurate

Senior accountant job requirements:
BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, or related field
5–10 years of accounting experience, preferably in the construction industry
Strong knowledge of FASB, SOX, IRS, federal/state regulations
Experience managing payroll (union payroll preferred)
Advanced Excel and Microsoft Office skills, plus familiarity with financial systems
High attention to detail and a proactive mindset toward problem-solving
