Base Salary: $105,000 – $125,000
Bonus: 10–15% performance-based
Total Potential Compensation: Up to $143,750 annually

We’re a fast-growing drayage and intermodal transportation company looking for a smart, proactive Controller to help take our finance function—and business—into the future. This isn’t your typical back-office role. You’ll be front and center, working hand-in-hand with leadership to shape financial strategy, streamline operations, and support smart, sustainable growth. If you’ve worked with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.) or supported AI or automation initiatives, you’ll feel right at home here. What You’ll Do
- Oversee all financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting
- Analyze financial statements and logistics-specific KPIs to drive smarter business decisions
- Develop annual budgets and forecasts for routes, terminals, and fleet operations
- Manage cash flow, A/R, A/P, and banking relationships
- Lead audits, tax filings (IFTA, IL EPA), and regulatory reporting
- Supervise payroll and benefits administration
- Identify gaps in current processes and recommend improvements
- Optimize pricing models and driver compensation strategies
- Lead BI and data initiatives to modernize financial systems
- Partner with operations teams to align goals and drive performance
- Mentor and lead a small accounting/finance team
Requirements
- 5+ years in a senior accounting, Controller, or finance leadership role
- Experience drayage or intermodal—is REQUIRED
- Strong understanding of GAAP, tax compliance, and logistics-specific finance
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with financial software (QuickBooks, Sage, or similar)
- Proven ability to build models, analyze trends, and offer actionable insights
- Experience with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau) a big plus; AI/automation experience even better
