Accounting Manager Job Description:
• Creates month end inventory reports for raw materials, scrap, finished goods, and uses those reports to book ending inventory details into the general ledger.
• Creates analysis on job costing, all plant related costs and maintains best practice operating/ accounting procedures.
• Planning, studying, and verifying the costs of business activity such as job costs, purchased raw materials costs, scrap.
• Analyzes job labor costs for accuracy and completeness and efficiency recommendations.
• Lead the cost accounting portion of period-end closing processes and related analysis and coordinates with Corporate
• Assists in conducting of physical inventories and monitors cycle count and spot check programs.
• Review, report and explain drivers of manufacturing performance and trends
• Develop, prepare, and maintain various weekly/monthly/quarterly reporting.
• Participate in process improvement initiatives as well as aid in performing internal control guidelines and testing.
• Lead the monthly inventory close procedures.
• Continue the integration into Great Plains ERP.
Accounting Manager Job Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, or Finance.
• 3 – 6 years’ experience in Cost Accounting in a Manufacturing Processing Environment preferred with 10-15+ years minimum total experience.
• Must have a strong aptitude for cost systems, excellent analytical skills and understanding of accounting principles, and strong understanding of accounting for raw materials flows in manufacturing environment.
• Computer Literate – Strong Excel skills. Experience using ERP software. Great Plains and SAGE experience a plus.
• Ability to work with peers in accounting as well as with purchasing and manufacturing staff.
• Ability to accurately prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports. Must be a hands-on accounting professional who is an operationally focused team player.
• Independent problem solver.
• CPA and Spanish language skills could be a plus
