About the Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Fine Art Framer to join a creative and collaborative design studio. This position is perfect for someone who enjoys hands-on craftsmanship, takes pride in precision work, and wants the flexibility to contribute to meaningful projects in an artistic environment.
Responsibilities
- Build custom frames using wood, metal, and archival-quality materials
- Cut mats, glazing, and backing materials accurately and efficiently
- Handle artwork with care, including prints, original pieces, textiles, and three-dimensional objects
- Prepare framing materials and maintain an organized workshop
- Assist with client consultations by preparing samples and providing design input when needed
- Follow quality standards to ensure every project meets client expectations
Qualifications
- Previous experience in custom framing, woodworking, furniture assembly, cabinetry, or related craftsmanship
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work with precise measurements
- Knowledge of archival and conservation framing techniques is preferred, but training is available for the right candidate
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Comfortable lifting, moving, and handling artwork of varying sizes
- Positive attitude and commitment to producing high-quality work
