Revenue Integrity Specialist Job Description:
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading charge capture improvement and charge reconciliation initiatives
- Managing Charge Description Master (CDM) activities
- Coordinating new service implementation efforts related to revenue integrity
- Conducting comprehensive revenue cycle assessments, including registration, charge capture, coding, documentation, billing, reimbursement, reconciliation, and compliance reviews
- Serving as Project Manager for revenue cycle process assessments and improvement initiatives
- Performing chart and bill audits for third-party payers and internal stakeholders
- Analyzing workflows and identifying process improvement opportunities
- Preparing and presenting detailed reports and recommendations to leadership and clinical teams
- Supporting Revenue Analytics, Internal Audit, Compliance, and Patient Financial Services departments
- Assisting with month-end close activities and reimbursement-related initiatives
- Monitoring revenue cycle metrics and implementing corrective action plans as needed
- Maintaining knowledge of clinical billing, coding, compliance regulations, and revenue cycle best practices
Revenue Integrity Specialist Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a clinical discipline required
- Master's degree preferred
- Minimum of five (5) years of clinical experience as an RN, APN, Clinical Specialist, or related healthcare professional
- Previous professional experience in a clinical setting
- Experience using healthcare billing and documentation systems
- Strong understanding of revenue cycle processes
- Experience with charge capture, auditing, coding, reimbursement, or revenue integrity functions preferred
- Coding certification preferred
- RN or other licensed healthcare practitioner preferred
- PA or NJ licensure preferred
- Pediatric clinical experience preferred
- Strong project management, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple complex projects simultaneously
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio
- Experience with EPIC or similar healthcare systems preferred
