IT Specialist
Location: Moorestown, NJ
Duration: 3 month contract-to-hire
Pay: $25-30/hr
Schedule: Monday-Thursday, 7:00 AM-4:30 PM; Friday, 7:00 AM-11:00 AM
Flexibility Required: Occasional after-hours and weekend support for maintenance, upgrades, and break/fix activities.
Position Overview
We are seeking a hands-on IT Specialist to provide comprehensive technical support across desktop systems, hardware, software, mobile devices, network infrastructure, and server environments. This role serves as a key resource for troubleshooting, systems administration, end-user support, and IT projects in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate is customer-focused, technically versatile, and comfortable supporting all levels of the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide Tier 1/Tier 2 technical support for hardware, software, network, and mobile device issues.
- Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot desktops, laptops, printers, peripherals, operating systems, and business applications.
- Support server infrastructure, user account administration, access controls, backups, and system recovery processes.
- Monitor system performance, security, and network connectivity while identifying and resolving technical issues.
- Perform hardware deployments, upgrades, equipment replacements, and data migrations.
- Install, test, and troubleshoot network cabling and connectivity issues.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, inventory records, and software licensing compliance.
- Partner with vendors to resolve hardware, software, and infrastructure-related issues.
- Analyze recurring incidents, perform root-cause analysis, and recommend preventive solutions and technology improvements.
- Support IT projects while balancing daily break/fix responsibilities.
- Train and assist end users on new technology, applications, and best practices.
Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field.
- Minimum three (3) years of IT support, systems administration, desktop support, or infrastructure experience.
- Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems, PC hardware, software applications, networking fundamentals, mobile devices, and Microsoft environments.
- Experience troubleshooting hardware, software, server, and network-related issues.
- Excellent communication, customer service, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Certifications
- CompTIA A+, Network+, Server+, or IT Fundamentals
- Google IT Support Professional Certificate
- Microsoft MCP, MCSA, or MCSE
- HDI Desktop Support Technician or Support Center Analyst
- Other relevant systems, infrastructure, or support certifications
