Senior Procurement Specialist (Maritime) | 6-Month Temporary Assignment

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Procurement Specialist to support maritime vessel operations through the procurement of marine equipment, spare parts, consumables, and technical services. This role requires strong sourcing, vendor management, and negotiation skills, along with experience supporting marine or shipping operations.
Senior Procurement Specialist's Key Responsibilities
- Source and purchase marine equipment, spare parts, and services for vessel operations.
- Develop and maintain relationships with global suppliers and service providers.
- Negotiate pricing, contracts, and annual sourcing agreements.
- Review purchase requests and obtain competitive vendor quotes.
- Issue and manage purchase orders, ensuring timely delivery.
- Coordinate logistics and shipments to vessels at international ports.
- Ensure compliance with maritime regulations and safety standards.
- Track supplier performance and resolve quality or delivery issues.
- Maintain accurate procurement records within ERP/procurement systems.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and process improvements.
Qualifications needed for the Senior Procurement Specialist
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Maritime Studies, Marine Engineering, or a related field.
- 8+ years of purchasing or procurement experience, preferably within the maritime, marine, shipping, or offshore industry.
- Strong knowledge of marine equipment, vessel operations, and international sourcing.
- Previous work experience as a Senior Procurement Specialist a plus
- Experience negotiating supplier agreements and managing vendor relationships.
- Proficiency with procurement systems such as ShipServ, ShipNet, Oracle, or similar platforms.
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Fluent English required; additional languages are a plus.
Work Environment
- Primarily office-based.
- Occasional visits to suppliers may be required.
- Flexibility to support international suppliers and vessels across multiple time zones.
