$35/Hour for a CNC Programmer and Set-Up
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM
Pay Rate: $30 - $35/Hour
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Program Haas CNC milling and turning centers using G-code and CAM software (Mastercam, Fusion 360, SolidCAM, etc.).
- Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, GD&T specifications, and work instructions.
- Set up machines, fixtures, tooling, and workholding for production runs.
- Perform first-piece inspections and make program or offset adjustments as needed.
- Optimize machining processes to improve cycle times, tool life, and product quality.
- Select appropriate cutting tools, speeds, and feeds based on material requirements.
- Troubleshoot machine, tooling, and program issues to minimize downtime.
- Operate precision measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and height gauges.
- Maintain accurate setup sheets, tooling lists, and production documentation.
- Perform routine machine maintenance and ensure equipment remains in proper working condition.
- Follow all safety procedures and company quality standards.
- Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to support manufacturing goals.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or GED; technical school or machining certification preferred.
- 3–5+ years of CNC programming and setup experience, preferably with Haas equipment.
- Proficiency with Haas controls and G-code programming.
- Experience with CAD/CAM software.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and GD&T.
- Strong understanding of machining processes, tooling, and workholding techniques.
- Knowledge of various materials including steel, stainless steel, aluminum, brass, and plastics.
- Ability to use precision inspection equipment.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
