Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Medical Billing Specialist for a temp-to-hire opportunity. This position plays a key role in ensuring timely and accurate billing, claim processing, and payment collection. The ideal candidate is familiar with the full revenue cycle and thrives in a structured, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Submit accurate medical claims to insurance providers
- Review and verify patient billing information
- Follow up on denied or unpaid claims
- Post payments, adjustments, and reconcile accounts
- Communicate with insurance companies and patients regarding billing issues
- Maintain accounts receivable and work to reduce outstanding balances
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA and billing regulations
- Collaborate with internal teams to resolve discrepancies
Qualifications
- 1–2+ years of medical billing experience required
- Knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding
- Experience with EMR/EHR systems and billing platforms
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities
