Position Summary
The Accounting & Payroll Specialist processes bi‑weekly payroll and supports daily accounting operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely employee payment. This role manages payroll deductions, tax filings, accruals, and HRIS functions while assisting with reconciliations, journal entries, accounts payable/receivable, and financial close activities.

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM (hybrid, 1 day a week WFH)
Location: Center City Philadelphia
Salary: $60,000–$65,000 annually
Key Responsibilities
Process and validate bi‑weekly payroll in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
Manage timesheets, deductions, tax filings, accruals, leave programs, and year‑end reporting (W‑2/W‑2c)
Maintain payroll‑related HRIS functions and provide training and support to users
Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and assist with month‑end and year‑end close
Process AP/AR transactions, including donations and expense reporting
Generate payroll and labor reports and support audits and budgeting efforts
Respond to employee payroll inquiries and resolve discrepancies
Maintain confidentiality and accurate financial documentation
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
5+ years of payroll experience; 2+ years of general ledger accounting
CPP certification preferred
Proficiency with payroll systems (iSolved preferred), HRIS, and Excel; Sage experience a plus
Strong attention to detail, communication, problem‑solving, and time‑management skills
