Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Security Systems Lead Technician to support installations, service, troubleshooting, and maintenance of electronic security systems in the Elizabeth, NJ area. This is a hands‑on, lead‑level position ideal for a skilled technician who can take ownership of projects, mentor others, and deliver high‑quality customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, wire, and configure access control, CCTV, gate systems, intercoms, and intrusion alarm systems
- Program and commission CCTV, access control, intrusion, intercom, and gate systems
- Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and system testing
- Diagnose and repair hardware, software, and system performance issues
- Troubleshoot complex electronic security system problems
- Provide end‑user training and customer support
- Maintain accurate service, installation, and work documentation
- Assist with security assessments and recommend system upgrades or improvements
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols, local codes, and company standards
- Manage tools, materials, inventory, and work records
Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in electronic security systems
- Strong technical background in low‑voltage electronics
- Experience with access control, CCTV, intrusion alarms, intercoms, and gate systems
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Detail‑oriented with accurate documentation and record‑keeping abilities
Compensation
- $40.00 – $46.00 per hour, based on experience
- Time‑and‑a‑half for work performed between 6:00 p.m. – 5:00 a.m.
- 4‑hour minimum at time‑and‑a‑half for emergency calls
- 4‑hour minimum at double time on holidays, plus 8 hours of regular holiday pay
