Manufacturing Associate
Pay: $18/ hour
Schedule: 6pm-4am
Position Overview:
Operation of packaging filling machines, maintaining quality, integrity, temperature and weight within established standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Reads job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements; sets stop and guides as indicated by container size.
• Cleans and assembles filler machine according to standard operating procedures.
• Sets up and activates machine, adjusts and performs minor machine maintenance as necessary, observes machine operation for proper fill and correct weights.
• Assists packaging helpers in set up of line, including labeling machine.
• Must maintain a safe, clean and sanitary work area.
• All employees may be cross trained to perform any of the responsibilities listed for all shifts and for both plants. (East and West).
Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
• Efficient and accurate use of weights and measures required.
• Self-start-up and completion of tasks with minimal supervision.
• Table scales, Hinds Boch Filler, Dumpers, Berry Packaging Line, LINX Coders, Heat Sealers, Bag Sealers, Sanitation System, and Thermometers.
• Standard operating speed of 15 containers per minute on Hinds Boch Fillers.
• Lifting of shroud for filler; overhead to position on filler weighing @45 lbs.
• Accurate completion of daily paperwork and HAACP paperwork.
• Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when appropriate and/or as directed
Education and Experience:
• High School Diploma required.
Physical Requirements
The heaviest weight the employee lifts while standing in the same position is 45 lbs. The approximate number of times lifted each workday is 40. Task being performed (what is being lifted and to where) packages are filled and moved onto the conveyor belt.
The heaviest weight the employee carries while walking from place to place is 32 lbs. The object being carried is bulk product or empty containers. The approximate number of times carried each day is 50. Other task being performed is carrying empty containers to the packaging area
