Job Overview:
We are seeking a Patient Support Specialist to join a high-touch concierge healthcare support team. This role is focused on delivering outstanding customer service to patients, physicians, and pharmacies, primarily through inbound and outbound calls. You will guide patients through copay assistance programs and ensure a seamless experience from start to finish.
Key Responsibilities:
Handle inbound and outbound calls regarding patient access to care, copay assistance, and reimbursement.
Provide empathetic support and clear communication to patients, helping them navigate program benefits.
Process claims based on call volume and assist with escalated cases as needed.
Collaborate with internal departments such as IT, Program Management, and other contact center teams to resolve issues.
Ensure accurate documentation and follow-up as part of a white-glove support experience.
Requirements:
Minimum of 1 year in a healthcare or case management role, ideally within a high-volume contact center.
Experience in pharmacy benefits, medical billing, or health insurance preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Familiarity with call center software such as Five9 or In-Contact.
Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Customer-first mindset with a high degree of empathy and emotional intelligence.
Ability to adapt to changing situations and solve problems effectively.
Preferred Experience:
Exposure to third-party systems (SelectRx, Pro-Care, FSV).
Background in call center performance metrics and operations.
