Our client in Bala Cynwyd is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Inventory Accountant, hybrid position!
Senior Inventory Accountant Details:
Pay rate: $35-$40/HR
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm
Hybrid position - 3 days in office

Senior Inventory Accountant Responsibilities:
• Perform general accounting and financial analysis related to inventory transactions and valuations.
• Reconcile inventory-related general ledger accounts and support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.
• Analyze COGS accounts to ensure timely and accurate income statement reporting.
• Prepare monthly Inventory Roll-Forward reports using Excel and update data into SAP.
• Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations and post related journal entries.
• Calculate and maintain various inventory-related reserves, including LIFO, Excess & Obsolescence.
• Analyze sales returns to develop and update sales return and warranty reserves.
• Oversee the Volume Rebate (VSF) process and related reporting.
• Build queries and generate ad hoc inventory reports using Hyperion to support Finance and Operations.
• Serve as a key contact for internal and external audits, including SOX compliance, by providing required documentation and account support.
Senior Inventory Accountant Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in accounting or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably with a focus on inventory.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and inventory accounting practices.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Senior Inventory Accountant Technical Skills:
• Advanced Excel (including Power Query, Pivot Tables, and complex formulas)
• Proficiency in ETL tools such as Domo or other BI platforms - preferred
• Experience with Hyperion for reporting and financial planning - preferred
• Hands-on experience with major ERP systems, with SAP strongly preferred
