We are seeking an experienced and skilled Accounting Manager with expertise in payroll, bookkeeping, and QuickBooks. The ideal candidate will be capable of managing payroll functions, preparing accurate financial reports, and generating monthly and quarterly union reports. Job Summary: As the Accounting Manager - Payroll & Bookkeeping Specialist, you will be responsible for overseeing payroll processing, ensuring accurate bookkeeping, and preparing monthly and quarterly reports, including union reports. You will use your QuickBooks expertise to maintain financial accuracy, support internal reporting, and ensure compliance with all financial regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee and manage the end-to-end payroll process, ensuring timely and accurate processing in accordance with company policies and legal requirements.
Maintain and update financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and other bookkeeping functions using QuickBooks.
Prepare accurate monthly and quarterly financial reports, including balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and cash flow statements.
Prepare and submit monthly and quarterly union reports, ensuring compliance with union contracts and regulations.
Reconcile payroll-related accounts and ensure proper tax filings, deductions, and benefits administration.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax laws and regulations.
Review and approve payroll-related transactions, including benefits, deductions, and overtime.
Assist in financial forecasting, budgeting, and financial analysis to support senior management decisions.
Provide accurate reporting and support for year-end audits and other internal or external financial audits.
Collaborate with HR to ensure employee records are accurate and aligned with payroll processing.
Offer guidance and training to other team members on QuickBooks, payroll, and bookkeeping procedures.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or Associates in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Proven experience (5+ years) in accounting, payroll, and bookkeeping, with a focus on QuickBooks.
Strong expertise in QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online.
Ability to prepare and submit union reports and navigate union-specific regulations.
Deep understanding of payroll laws, tax regulations, and benefits administration.
Experience with month-end and year-end reporting, including financial reconciliations.
Strong analytical skills, with the ability to assess financial data and produce accurate reports.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to communicate effectively with senior management, HR, and union representatives.
Proficiency in MS Excel and other accounting software.
