Glendale Heights, IL - Mechanical Assembler
Pay Rate: $21.00
Shift: 6:00am-2:30pm (Must be able to work overtime as required before and/or after your shift, as well as weekends.)
Position Overview: The Production Technician assembles, wires, and mounts components in electrical control equipment, ensuring quality and compliance. Responsibilities include test preparation, final inspection, and verifying electrical/mechanical integrity using established procedures. Tasks must meet quality and productivity standards.
Essential Functions:
- Assemble panelboards and switchboards according to customer specifications using electrical drawings, schematics, and tools.
- Inspect and test completed products to ensure they meet quality standards and comply with specifications and codes.
- Use hand tools like wire strippers and plyers for electrical wiring assembly.
- Monitor job progress, report issues or parts shortages, and maintain organized work areas.
- Receive, store, and prepare materials for shipment.
- Participate in Lean Initiatives by suggesting improvements for quality, processes, and safety.
- Follow 5S guidelines to maintain equipment and workspace cleanliness.
- Learn and work in different roles as needed.
- Perform additional tasks assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
At least one year of assembly experience using hand or power tools (automotive, construction, or carpentry experience considered).
Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution.
- CNC bus fabrication, press brake, or related experience.
- Experience with wiring diagrams, schematics, and power flow to install correct wires.
- Experience with measuring tools, torque tolerance, and hardware assembly.
- Experience using various tools including manual/electric tools, drill press, press brake, fork truck, jib crane, template/fixtures, hand carts, tape measure, storage/packaging materials and prescribed safety equipment.
