Position Summary: We are seeking a Shipping Specialist to handle outbound traffic activities, ensuring customer orders are processed accurately and shipped on time. This role requires attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in inventory management, labeling, and packaging. The ideal candidate will operate various material handling equipment, prioritize orders to meet expected ship dates, and maintain a safe, organized work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ship finished goods and raw materials, label, and package them according to regulatory and customer specifications.
- Operate forklifts, pallet wrappers, and other material handling equipment.
- Use computer systems (Oracle applications) to process orders, generate labels, and manage inventory transactions.
- Conduct independent cycle counts and ensure inventory accuracy.
- Create bills of lading, coordinate freight, and contact carriers for shipments.
- Develop proficiency in Shipping Coordinator duties, including order allocation, freight coordination, and export logistics.
- Perform additional duties as assigned, including equipment sanitation.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 1-year experience in shipping, warehouse, or inventory control.
- Physical ability to lift 50 lbs and push/pull up to 1000 lbs with a pallet jack.
- Forklift operation experience and ability to obtain IATA/DOT certification.
- Strong math and reading comprehension, attention to detail, and instruction-following skills.
