Purchasing Agent Details:
- Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Pay Rate: $19–$27/hour
- Contract-to-Hire Opportunity
Purchasing Agent Responsibilities:
- Work closely with Project Teams and internal Purchasing personnel to support procurement needs
- Research, compare, and select suppliers based on pricing, quality, availability, and delivery timelines
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules with vendors
- Prepare and process purchase orders, track shipments, and resolve vendor issues
- Maintain detailed purchasing records, including quotes, order history, and vendor communications
- Process material returns (RMAs) and ensure timely vendor follow-up
- Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to support ongoing business needs
- Ensure purchasing activities comply with company policies and procurement standards
Purchasing Agent Requirements:
- Previous purchasing, procurement, or supply chain experience required
- Experience purchasing electrical, metal, industrial, or manufacturing materials preferred
- Working knowledge of electrical materials strongly preferred
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and ERP systems
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Mechanically inclined with the ability to understand technical products and specifications
- Team-oriented with strong attention to detail and organizational skills
