Location: Philadelphia, PA
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM (25 hours/week)
Pay Rate: $22.00 per hour

Job Description:
The Community Resource Connector program is an integral part of efforts to alleviate poverty by making resources more accessible and meeting residents where they are. Community Resource Connectors serve as trusted ambassadors who help residents navigate assistance programs and connect with resources that can improve their quality of life.
Responsibilities include:
- Conduct outreach primarily by phone to residents interested in receiving support with applications for assistance programs
- Provide follow-up communication and application support to residents.
- Conduct occasional outreach through text messaging and door-to-door canvassing to increase awareness of available programs and resources.
- Attend community events, resource fairs, and neighborhood tabling opportunities.
- Build positive relationships with residents and community stakeholders while promoting available resources.
- Participate in regular trainings to develop expertise in assistance programs, application processes, outreach technology, and trauma-informed engagement practices.
- Utilize outreach tools, including NGP VAN and peer-to-peer texting platforms.
- Attend regular team meetings, check-ins, and coaching sessions with supervisors and program staff.
- Support additional initiatives and projects
Job Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Passion for serving and supporting your community.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Comfortable engaging with individuals from diverse backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives.
- Ability to discuss sensitive topics with empathy, professionalism, and discretion.
- Comfortable using handheld technology and digital communication tools.
- Desire to learn and develop community engagement and outreach skills.
- Positive attitude with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and overcome challenges.
- Culturally aware, racially sensitive, and committed to inclusive engagement practices.
- Active and trusted member of the community preferred.
- Motivated to use the knowledge, tools, and connections gained in this role to grow professionally and create lasting community impact.
