- Preparing shipping paperwork such as bills of lading (BOLs), packing slips, and receiving documents.
- Scheduling and communicating with carriers, cold-storage facilities, and customers regarding inbound and outbound loads.
- Verifying shipment quantities and investigating discrepancies between shipping documents and actual inventory.
- Entering shipping and inventory data into company computer systems and spreadsheets.
- Coordinating the movement of finished goods to ensure customer orders are shipped accurately and on time.
- Working closely with warehouse personnel, forklift operators, inventory specialists, and production teams.
- Maintaining food-safety, GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), and warehouse safety standards in a refrigerated or freezer environment.
Shipping Clerk Job Requirements:
- Previous experience in shipping, receiving, logistics, or warehouse operations preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Basic math and data entry skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English.
