Forklift Operator (Warehouse)

Schedule: 5:45 PM – 6:00 AM (2-on / 2-off / 3-on / 2-off rotation)
Position Summary
The Forklift Operator is responsible for the safe movement, storage, and handling of ingredients, packaging, and finished goods throughout the facility. This role supports production by efficiently loading/unloading trucks, managing inventory, and ensuring compliance with safety and food quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily equipment inspections and document any issues
- Operate forklifts and material handling equipment in accordance with safety procedures
- Safely load, unload, store, and retrieve materials to support production operations
- Inspect pallets and loads to ensure stability and safe handling
- Follow all safety guidelines, GMPs, and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Receive purchase orders and interplant transfers; accurately store inventory
- Pick and stage orders (FIFO), and load truckload (TL) and less-than-truckload (LTL) shipments
- Complete transactions in ERP system and maintain accurate inventory records
- Verify shipment counts and inspect inbound/outbound freight and trailers
- Maintain clean and organized work areas in compliance with GMP and food safety standards
- Report damaged materials and assist with rework or corrective action
- Support internal audits and suggest process improvements
Qualifications
Required:
- Minimum 1 year of forklift experience in a manufacturing or high-traffic warehouse environment
- Valid forklift certification (or ability to obtain/recertify)
- Clean driver’s license
- Basic computer skills for data entry in English
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in English
Preferred:
- High school diploma or GED

- Problem-solving skills based on experience and training
Physical Requirements
- Stand, walk, and perform physical tasks for up to 12-hour shifts
- Lift and move up to 50 lbs regularly (with or without assistance)
- Frequent use of hands, arms, and physical movement (climbing, crouching, etc.)
- Visual abilities including depth perception and peripheral vision
Work Environment
- Exposure to warehouse conditions including humidity, heat, and moderate noise
- Work areas may be wet; PPE such as ear protection is available
