Bookkeeper Position Details:
- Length of Assignment: 6month - 1 year contract
- Payrate: $18-22
- Schedule: Mon - Fri 10am - 6pm
- Location: On-site in Concord
About the Bookkeeper position:
This is a dual-function role — the primary focus is Accounts Payable, with a secondary responsibility of light front-desk coverage at the admin office. The ideal candidate is professional, personable, and comfortable being visible and client-facing while managing financial responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities for the Bookkeeper Role:
- Process and manage Accounts Payable transactions accurately and on time
- Code and enter invoices, verify approvals, and prepare payments
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
- Maintain organized financial records and documentation
- Work within accounting software (Sage or equivalent platform)
- Provide light front-desk coverage at the admin building
- Greet visitors and staff professionally as the first point of contact
- Support administrative team with general office needs as required
Job Qualifications for the Bookkeeper Role:
- Demonstrated experience in Accounts Payable or general bookkeeping
- Proficiency in accounting software — Sage preferred; QuickBooks experience transfers well
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple transactions
- Professional, front-facing demeanor — this role is visible to visitors and staff
Preferred:
- Experience in a nonprofit, administrative, or mission-driven organization
- Comfortable working in a small-office environment with varied daily responsibilities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
