Relief Operator - Full Time Associate
Location: Dundalk, MD
Shift & Pay:
Relief Operator – 3rd Shift: 11:30 PM – 8:00 AM, Monday–Friday | $17.25 per hour
Relief Operator – Daytime Weekend: 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM, Friday–Sunday | $17.25 per hour
JOB SUMMARY:
We are seeking a dependable Relief Operator to support molding operations in a manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for monitoring machine output, inspecting parts, and ensuring products meet quality standards. The Relief Operator will rotate between machines throughout the shift, relieving Injection Machine Operators during breaks. This role involves frequent movement and physical activity.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Relieve Injection Machine Operators for scheduled breaks
• Operate injection molding machines and grind caps
• Assist with carton assembly
• Run and monitor the MATTEC system
• Assist with re-inspection work
• Monitor and inspect machine output for quality
• Maintain clean and organized work areas
• Perform all duties in compliance with safety, quality, customer, ISO, SQF, and regulatory requirements
• Report quality or safety concerns and suggest process improvements
• Perform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
• High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Excellent attendance and reliability
• Good housekeeping skills
• Proven ability to operate all production machines in the department
• Basic computer skills
• Ability to lift and stack cartons and handle skids
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Physical capability to walk, sit, bend, twist, stand, push, pull, and lift throughout the shift
• Visual acuity to distinguish color variation and detect defects
• Ability to work in a production environment with various sounds and alarms
• Ability to perform all duties safely and effectively
• Willingness to work overtime when required
ROLE DIFFERENTIATOR:
The Relief Operator differs from a standard Machine Operator in that this role moves from machine to machine throughout the shift, providing coverage for other operators during breaks. This position involves increased physical movement and flexibility.
