Procurement/Buyer Job Details:
Procurement/Buyer Responsibilities:
- Execute procurement and buying activities driven by MRP signals to support production and demand requirements
- Run, interpret, and act on MRP reports and exception messages
- Convert, release, and adjust planned orders within ERP/MRP systems
- Maintain accurate item master data, including lead times, min/max levels, safety stock, and supplier information
- Analyze shortages, excess inventory, and demand fluctuations; take corrective purchasing actions
- Collaborate with planning, production, and inventory teams to ensure material availability
- Proactively manage suppliers to improve on‑time delivery and resolve material issues
- Negotiate lead times and delivery schedules as needed
- Monitor inventory levels, turns, and cost impact of purchasing decisions
Procurement/Buyer Requirements:
- Strong working knowledge of MRP concepts, including demand planning, lead times, BOMs, safety stock, and lot sizing
- Hands‑on experience using ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, Infor, Epicor, or similar)
- Proven experience maintaining high data accuracy in item masters, BOMs, and supplier records
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills related to material availability and inventory control
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment (strongly preferred)
- Understanding of production scheduling, inventory management, and supply chain impact
- Advanced Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, Conditional Formatting, filters, and functions
