Maintenance Lead Job Description:
The Maintenance Lead will report directly to the Maintenance Manager and play a key role in ensuring machinery and facility systems operate efficiently to maximize production uptime. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for coordinating maintenance activities, guiding technicians, and troubleshooting complex equipment issues.
Responsibilities include:
Direct resources to improve repair and maintenance efficiency
Schedule and assign daily tasks for Automation and Maintenance Technicians
Lead advanced troubleshooting efforts on automated equipment
Ensure clear communication at shift start and shift transitions
Support technician development through coaching and training opportunities
Assist with performance management and attendance of maintenance staff
Maintain documentation of maintenance processes and procedures
Ensure compliance with OSHA and regulatory safety standards
Support installation and modification of equipment and facility systems
Read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, and engineering specifications
Collaborate with internal teams and outside vendors to resolve technical issues
This position plays a critical role in maintaining equipment reliability and supporting overall production success.
Maintenance Lead Job Requirements:
Associate degree in Maintenance, Automation, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field
5+ years of experience in maintenance, automation, or manufacturing engineering
Experience with PLC operations/programming, robotics, and vision systems
Knowledge of instrumentation and related software systems
Hands-on electrical, electronic, and mechanical troubleshooting skills
Experience with systems such as ABB, Fanuc, Epson, Allen-Bradley, Cognex, or Keyence preferred
Injection molding equipment experience is a plus
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
Strong commitment to workplace safety
