Tooling Technician – Multiple Shifts Available
Location: Mt. Laurel, NJ
Shifts: 1st, 2nd, or 3rd Shift
Compensation: $33–$40 per hour (based on experience and skill level)

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Tooling Technician to support mold preparation, maintenance, and tooling operations in a manufacturing environment. This role ensures production-ready molds are safely delivered to machine work cells while maintaining high standards of quality, organization, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, clean, maintain, and store molds in a safe and organized manner.
- Change mold configurations based on production schedules.
- Inspect and troubleshoot tooling in collaboration with processing staff to identify repairs or improvements.
- Perform basic machining tasks using equipment such as a surface grinder, lathe, and Bridgeport milling machine.
- Communicate with tooling vendors regarding new and existing tooling projects.
- Document mold maintenance, modifications, repairs, and continuous improvements.
- Maintain inventory of tooling supplies and spare components.
- Assist in creating and implementing electronic changeover and assembly/disassembly documentation.
- Train shop floor personnel on proper tooling care and maintenance.
- Propose at least three continuous improvement ideas per year.
- Participate in training to enhance skills and industry knowledge.
- Ensure safety of all tooling and equipment; report unsafe conditions.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience
- Minimum 3-5 years of molding or manufacturing experience in a tooling technician or similar role.
Technical Skills
- Valid forklift certification (or ability to obtain).
- Ability to use precision measurement tools (micrometers, calipers, etc.).
- Working knowledge of shop equipment (surface grinder, Bridgeport mill, lathe, sandblasting cabinet).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office for documentation.
- Strong ability to read, write, and document tooling-related information in English.
- Basic math and geometry skills; ability to calculate percentages, volumes, and other measurements.
- Ability to interpret written, oral, diagram, and schedule instructions.
