Collections Agent Job Details:
Schedule: 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM Mon-Fri (1 Saturday a month for 4 Hours)
Pay Rate: $22-$25/Hour
Type: Contract to hire
Location: Richmond, VA (On-site)

Collections Agent Job Description:
- Use strong interpersonal skills and effective communication techniques to maintain a positive Credit Union image, even in difficult or sensitive situations.
- De-escalate upset or irate members, addressing questions and resolving complaints related to Collections department functions.
- Evaluate the Credit Union’s standing in bankruptcy proceedings and work to minimize potential losses.
- Investigate and verify assets, potential fraud, or inconsistencies in bankruptcy filings.
- Monitor bankrupt members’ loans to ensure sufficient insurance coverage is maintained to protect both collateral and Credit Union interests.
- Support staff with foreclosure processes involving real property, coordinating with legal counsel on trustee sales, evictions, and title transfers.
- Recommend charge-offs when appropriate, and prepare the necessary write-off documentation
Collections Agent Job Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience working in collections
- High School Diploma or higher education
- Thorough knowledge of collection procedures, skil tracing, and related laws and regulations
- Thorough knowledge understanding of all court systems
- Must be willing to answer all incoming collections calls
- Ability to work well in stressful situations
- Must have reliable transportation
- Must be willing to commit to going to work everyday without issue
