Universal Underwriter Job Details:
📅 Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30AM–5:30PM
💲 Pay Rate: $21–$26/hour
Universal Underwriter Job Responsibilities:
• Review and evaluate loan applications while identifying cross-sell opportunities
• Process loan servicing requests like payoffs, refinances, payment extensions, and collateral releases
• Approve loans within authority limits and document decisions clearly for internal teams
• Verify employment, income, creditworthiness, and collateral value
• Prepare indirect loans for funding and ensure insurance and title accuracy
• File and follow up on vehicle titles, and issue credit life, disability, warranty, and GAP insurance
• Assist with mortgage-related tasks such as escrow, booking, and verifying funding accuracy
• Support collections by making calls, processing claims, and tracking member requests
• Manage GAP and MRC claims by gathering documents and filing rebates
• Participate in mortgage pipeline tracking and reporting with internal teams
• Scrub data from TransUnion analyses and coordinate campaign uploads
• Maintain compliance knowledge of lending and lien laws and ensure accurate documentation
Universal Underwriter Job Requirements:
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• At least 1 year of experience in lending, loan processing, or underwriting (personal or auto loan preferred)
• General knowledge of consumer loan products and underwriting practices
• Familiarity with lending regulations and compliance standards
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
