GED Instruction Job Details:
- Schedule: Monday – Thursday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM (NO Fridays!)
- Pay Rate: $20.00–$23.35/hour
- Contract: 4-months (with the possibility of extension)
GED Instruction Job Description:
- Plan and implement instructional activities for a cohort of adult learners preparing for a GED, Career Readiness Certificate, Digital Literacy, professional soft-skill credentials, and an industry certification.
- Administer assessments following VDOE policies and vendor guidelines.
- Collaborate with Virginia Community College System staff on curriculum planning.
- Create program timelines and weekly instructional schedules.
- Maintain accurate student records using VADOE Adult Student Profile Document (ASPD).
- Participate in staff development activities and curriculum planning.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
GED Instruction Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field.
- Experience teaching, especially adult learners, preferred.
- Strong background in math and science.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Excellent communication skills, strong understanding of the mission, and compassion for the community.
- Organized and capable of effective planning.
- Must pass a standard background check.
