Maintenance Engineer Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain a preventative maintenance plan for both the facility and each piece of equipment.
- Formulate and document procedures to ensure coordination with production goals.
- Supervise and direct a talented team of maintenance workers for continuity in operations.
- Plan, promote, and organize training activities to keep everyone sharp and ready.
- Oversee spare parts inventory to avoid any downtime due to shortages.
- Troubleshoot DCS and AS/RS when necessary.
- Manage the use of outside maintenance contractors, ensuring safety and compliance.
- Lead hazardous materials training for outside contractors (safety first!).
- Handle hazardous waste after proper training (don't worry, we’ll guide you!).
- Perform other duties as required to keep the operation running smoothly.
Maintenance Engineer Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Supervise employees in the Maintenance Department, ensuring work is completed efficiently and up to standard.
- Take charge in hiring, training, and assessing performance, providing feedback to keep your team at their best.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (B.S.) from a four-year college or university.
- At least 5 years of related experience or a suitable combination of education and experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for reports, manuals, and presentations.
- Solid grasp of mathematical concepts, including probability, geometry, and trigonometry.
- Ability to solve practical problems with limited standardization—flexibility is key!
Maintenance Engineer Physical Demands:
- Regularly required to talk, hear, stand, walk, and use hands to handle or feel objects.
- Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally and handle moderate noise levels.
Maintenance Engineer Work Environment:
- Frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts and occasional exposure to fumes or airborne particles.
- Moderate noise levels in the work environment.
