Position Title: Logistics Technician I

Monday Through Friday 7a-3:30p

Pay: $18-$19/hr

Role Overview

The Logistics Technician I plays an essential role within the Operations team, supporting the coordination and execution of shipping and receiving activities to ensure smooth material flow and timely deliveries.

Primary Responsibilities

Execute multiple tasks based on instructions from the Logistics Supervisor or Lead.
Collaborate effectively within a small team (typically five or fewer members), emphasizing clear communication and active listening.
Safely operate large forklifts to move delicate stainless-steel equipment.
Utilize drawings and pick lists to identify, gather, and package parts accurately.
Handle inbound and outbound truck shipments, including loading and unloading.
Package and label parts with correct part numbers and quantities according to sales order pick lists.
Organize laydown areas by project and shipping schedule.
Load trucks efficiently to maximize space and minimize costs.
Construct custom packing materials using saws, nails, and screws for oversized equipment.
Capture and document photos of outbound shipments as required.
Communicate promptly with the Logistics Supervisor regarding progress, updates, and potential challenges.
Stage raw materials in inventory racks and apply paint color codes to indicate material grade.
Follow established processes and maintain accurate documentation flow.

Qualifications

Valid driver’s license.
At least 3 years of experience in shipping and receiving (manufacturing environment preferred).
Familiarity with job-shop fabrication is a plus.
Skilled in packaging large equipment.
Forklift certification and experience handling oversized loads.
Ability to load and unload irregularly sized freight.
Strong teamwork skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
