Position: Machine Shop Technician
Schedule/Hours: 230pm-11pm w/ Overtime Mon-Fri
Pay: $25.00-28.00+ an hour

Responsibilities:
Responsible for coordinating all activities necessary to effectively plan, set up, and operate machinery or equipment to meet or exceed fabrication, assembly, and customer requirements according to design specifications and production schedules. This role focuses on optimizing resources to minimize waste, including scrap materials, labor, and other resources.
- Perform machining of experimental configurations according to specifications provided by management, ensuring timely completion.
- Operate and demonstrate proficiency with vertical milling machines (manual and CNC), engine lathes, and vertical band saws.
- Collaborate with management to identify and report errors in blueprints, bills of materials, setup sheets, or routings, contributing to engineering updates and process improvements.
- Work independently with minimal supervision to complete assigned tasks accurately and efficiently.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- 2 year certificate from a technical school or an accredited journeyman program; and a preferred 1 year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to read, analyze, interpret, and comprehend all forms of written and/or verbal instructions
- Ability to write simple correspondence
- Effectively able to present information and respond to questions from managers, supervisors, and other employees of the organization
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, decimals, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, angles, and volume
