Laser CNC Operator
The Laser Operator is responsible for setting up and operating a CNC fiber laser to produce high-quality parts that meet customer specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and process parts according to design specifications and traveler requirements.
- Monitor machine performance and cutting efficiency.
- Set up and shut down the laser machine, including loading programs, selecting gases, nozzles, and materials.
- Safely operate equipment such as overhead cranes, forklifts, calipers, grinders, and hand tools.
- Troubleshoot machining issues, making adjustments as needed.
- Inspect machined products for quality and notify supervisor of any process issues.
- Perform regular maintenance and housekeeping as scheduled.
- Follow all safety procedures and protocols.
- Additional tasks as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 1 year of experience in laser operation within a manufacturing setting.
- Proficiency in basic math and measuring equipment, working within close tolerances.
- Ability to work safely, independently, and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow instructions and written processes.
- Familiarity with sheet metal thicknesses and material types.
- Physical ability to repeatedly lift to 50 lbs., moving products as needed.
- Reliable attendance and flexibility to work standard hours (5:00 am - 3:30 pm, M-Th) with occasional Friday/Saturday overtime as required.
Desired Experience and Skills:
- Experience with nesting software, preferably ProNest.
- Familiarity with ERP systems, ideally Epicor.
Education:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
