Quality Manager Job Description:
- Lead all Quality Assurance and Quality Control functions within the facility.
- Serve as the primary expert and point of contact for internal and external audits, including FDA, BRC, Kosher, GFCO, and other regulatory audits.
- Own, maintain, and continuously improve the Quality Management System (QMS).
- Drive plant performance related to quality and hygiene KPIs.
- Ensure compliance with GMP, FSMA, FDA, and food safety regulations.
- Develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality, safety, and operational efficiency.
- Promote a strong culture of food safety and quality throughout the organization.
- Ensure the facility maintains exceptional hygiene standards and audit readiness.
- Oversee product testing, laboratory analysis, and quality verification processes.
- Investigate customer complaints, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions.
- Collaborate with production, maintenance, and other departments to support quality objectives.
- Create and deliver training materials related to food safety, quality standards, and compliance requirements.
- Manage the facility's pest control program.
- Participate in an after-hours on-call rotation as required.
Quality Manager Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Chemistry, Biology, or a related field required.
- Master's degree preferred.
- Bachelor's degree holders should possess a minimum of 8 years of applicable quality experience.
- 3–5 years of leadership experience managing quality teams in a manufacturing environment.
- Food manufacturing experience strongly preferred; FMCG or CPG experience will also be considered.
- Strong understanding of FSMA, FDA, GMP, and GFSI certification requirements.
- Experience with IFS standards is a plus.
- Knowledge of laboratory testing and quality systems management.
- Strong leadership, coaching, and team development skills.
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication abilities.
- Detail-oriented with a continuous improvement mindset.
- Conversational Spanish is a plus but not required.
- Must be comfortable working onsite and participating in an on-call rotation.
