Legal Administrative Manager (Practice Support Team Manager)
Location: Kansas City, KS
Hybrid Schedule: Initially 4 days onsite / 1 day remote; transitioning to 3 days onsite per week.
Compensation: $95,000–$141,000 (commensurate with experience)

ABOUT THE ROLE
Reporting to the Associate Director of Legal Support Services, this leader will oversee multiple Legal Support Services teams, including Practice Support Teams, the Administrative Resource Team, and Resource Center staff.
You will serve as a strategic partner to PSC leadership, attorneys, paralegals, and administrative leaders, ensuring administrative resources align with practice needs and business goals.
KEY LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES
- Recruit, supervise, counsel, and evaluate staff and temporary employees
- Drive workforce planning, workflow management, and long-term workload strategy
- Oversee onboarding, training, and mentorship programs
- Lead regular meetings to address productivity, policies, growth opportunities, and operational improvements
- Track and manage timecards, overtime, PTO, and assigned budget GL items
- Partner with Human Resources to monitor STD, FMLA, LTD, and other leaves
- Coordinate evening, holiday, and weekend staffing coverage
- Supervise the Administrative Services Coordinator and oversee daily staffing logistics
- Maintain working knowledge of HR software systems for staff record management
- Communicate effectively with clients, timekeepers, and staff
- Conduct all business in a confidential and professional manner
- Perform other duties as assigned
This role requires the ability to exercise independent judgment under strict deadlines within a fast-paced legal environment.
WHAT YOU BRING
- 5+ years of management experience, preferably in a professional services environment
- At least 5 years of direct team leadership experience
- Strong leadership skills, ideally within a legal setting
- Legal or Human Resources experience preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Proficiency in Windows or similar software applications preferred
