PeopleShare is looking for a dedicated Maintenance Mechanic to join a premier manufacturing facility in the Geneva, NY area.
This isn’t just a "repair" role, you will be the technical backbone of high-speed Aerosol and Hair Care Packaging operations on the 1st and 3rd shift. This role is essential for maximizing equipment uptime, ensuring product quality, and supporting continuous improvement in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
Schedule: 1st & 3rd shift, 2-2-3 rotation
Pay: $35-$40/hr
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain packaging and support equipment.
- Perform line changeovers, set‑ups, adjustments, and equipment rebuilds.
- Use CMMS/MES data to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues.
- Support operators with process‑related problems.
- Complete Preventative Maintenance and resolve issues found during PMs.
- Assist Engineering with equipment installations and upgrades.
- Fabricate or repair parts as needed.
- Operate forklifts to move equipment/materials.
- Train team members on basic adjustments and maintenance.
- Participate in continuous improvement and root cause analysis efforts.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate degree in Mechanical or Electrical Technology preferred.
- Mechanical/electrical apprenticeship or military technical training strongly preferred.
- Advanced training in machine shop operations, welding, and mechanical/electrical maintenance (bearings, gearboxes, hydraulics, pneumatics, AC/DC motors, three‑phase power, PLCs).
Technical Skills:
- Strong troubleshooting skills across electro‑mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and conveyor systems.
- Ability to read blueprints and perform advanced mechanical/electrical diagnostics.
- Experience with root cause analysis and downtime reduction.
Physical Requirements:
- Factory environment with standing, walking, and lifting for extended periods.
- Regularly lift/move up to 40 lbs; occasionally over 60 lbs (OSHA‑compliant).
