Senior-Level / High-Level Litigation Support
Salary Range: $70,000–$90,000
Hybrid Schedule: 3 days in office / 2 days remote
A nationally recognized, full-service law firm is seeking an experienced Practice Support Team Specialist to support attorneys in its Commercial Litigation Practice Group. Practice Support Team Specialist (Commercial Litigation Legal Assistant)
This position supports a fast-paced legal environment within a Commercial Litigation practice, providing high-level administrative and litigation support to multiple attorneys. The role requires extensive experience working directly with attorneys on complex litigation matters and trial preparation, managing heavy workloads, and meeting multiple competing deadlines.
The Practice Support Team Specialist serves as a key point of contact for assigned attorneys and works within a team structure to manage workflow, delegate tasks, and ensure accuracy and timeliness of work. This role demands executive-level attention to detail, strong technical skills, and the ability to remain calm under pressure, particularly during trial preparation and trial.
Essential Job Duties
- Coordinates all workflow for assigned attorneys (2-5 attorneys), delegating tasks to other teams as needed, including follow-up and quality control.
- Provides direct litigation and trial preparation support, including pleadings, exhibits, trial binders, and document management.
- Prepares, revises, transcribes, and proofreads complex legal documents with a high degree of accuracy.
- Manages state and federal e-filings, ensuring compliance with court rules and strict deadlines.
- Coordinates attorney calendars, court deadlines, meetings, and travel arrangements.
- Assists with billing coordination, client financial updates, alternative fee arrangements, and matter budget tracking.
- Processes new client and matter intake, including conflict checks and file openings.
- Reviews, routes, and prepares incoming and outgoing mail, filings, and courier services.
- Maintains attorney contacts, CLE tracking, and related administrative requirements.
- Effectively uses team software to log, track, and manage workflow.
- Operates standard office equipment and handles confidential information with discretion.
- Thrives in high-volume, deadline-driven environments, including active trial support.
- Other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 5+ years of high-level legal assistant or litigation support experience.
- Extensive experience supporting attorneys directly in commercial litigation and trial preparation.
- Demonstrated ability to manage heavy workloads, meet multiple deadlines, and support multiple attorneys simultaneously.
- Strong experience with e-filing and litigation calendaring.
- Excellent client service and professional communication skills.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Minimum typing speed of 60 wpm.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and Adobe Acrobat.
Preferred Position Requirements
- 2-year degree.
- Previous transcription experience.
- Strong process, workflow, and information management skills.
