Pay Rate: $38.00 - $40.00 an hour, based on experience

Controls Technician Job Description:
The Controls Technician III is responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting all plant electrical and control systems including electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic and network components. This role involves diagnosing equipment issues, performing installations, supporting Maintenance Technicians, updating system documentation, and ensuring production uptime. You will conduct preventive/corrective maintenance, assist with breakdown repairs, and play a key role in automation and controls support for production equipment.
Key responsibilities include:
Inspect, troubleshoot, repair & maintain processing/packaging machinery
Install and service control/distribution systems, switches, relays & breaker panels
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on automated equipment
Program, repair & troubleshoot PLC, VFD, HMI and servo systems
Assist with mechanical repairs and support electrical/controls failures
Maintain documentation, work orders & systems drawings
Install/modify pipe systems, pneumatics & hydraulics components
Work safely under GMP, HACCP, allergen & food safety standards
Coordinate work on production lines during downtime; respond to breakdowns rapidly
Maintain clean/organized work environment and comply with PPE and safety rules
Controls Technician Job Requirements:
Formal training in electrical or electronic engineering technology (required)
Skilled troubleshooting experience with PLC, VFD, HMI & control systems
Ability to read/interpret electrical & mechanical drawings/P&IDs
Experience working with 120V–480V electrical systems
Knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, power distribution & servo drives
Ability to use CMMS for work orders & documentation (SAP experience a plus)
Mechanical aptitude with moderate plumbing ability
Ability to stand/walk for extended periods & lift up to 50 lbs
Must work safely in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, moving machinery, varying temperatures & humidity
Food manufacturing experience preferred but not required
