Machining Specialist (Versatile Machinist)

- Pay: $62,000 – $72,800 per year (negotiable)
- Lead manufacturing of custom machines, devices, and robotic process automation using manual machine tools. This hands-on role focuses on precision machining with mills, lathes, saws, grinders, and drills while collaborating on design, quoting, and field installations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead manufacturing of custom machines and robotic process cells using manual machine tools
- Assign tasks to support personnel and oversee production timelines
- Perform assembly and basic wiring to integrate components into robotic cells
- Assist with on-site installations at client facilities (local/regional, minimal overnight travel)
- Provide machining expertise during design reviews to improve manufacturability
- Contribute to project quoting with accurate cost estimates
- Mentor team members and share knowledge for robotic automation projects
Requirements:
- 5+ years experience with manual machine tools (mills, lathes, saws, grinders, drills)
- Team or project leadership experience preferred
- Proficient in precision machining, setup, operation, and maintenance
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics
- Skilled in assembly and basic wiring for robotic components
- Proven 'maker' or 'tinkerer' with hands-on project experience
- Collaborative, self-motivated, thrives in dynamic environment
No formal degree required - practical experience valued over credentials
