Team Lead Job Description:
The Team Lead plays a key role in managing and supporting daily production operations. This position ensures the team meets safety, quality, and efficiency goals while maintaining compliance with all company and regulatory standards. The Team Lead coordinates workflow, trains employees, monitors performance, and acts as a liaison between team members and management to maintain a smooth and productive operation.
Primary Responsibilities:
Oversee daily floor operations, assigning workstations and ensuring team alignment with production targets
Enforce safety protocols, GMPs, and food safety standards, including routine safety checks and hazard reporting
Partner with QA teams to verify product quality and compliance with specifications
Track and report production metrics such as output, downtime, and material usage
Coordinate employee breaks and shift transitions to maintain continuous workflow
Troubleshoot minor equipment issues and communicate maintenance needs to supervisors
Train and coach team members, promoting skill development and adherence to best practices
Foster open communication between departments and maintain accurate production documentation
Team Lead Job Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent (technical or mechanical certification preferred)
2–3 years of experience in a food manufacturing or production environment
Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to perform basic equipment troubleshooting
Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to guide and motivate a team
Working knowledge of GMPs, food safety, and OSHA compliance
Bilingual ability is a plus
Comfortable working in variable temperatures and standing or walking for long periods
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and adhere to all PPE/safety requirements
