Title: CNC Machinist
Location: Camden, NJ 08104
Salary: $28-35/hr, Direct Hire Full-time with benefits
Schedule:
1st shift: M-F 5:00 AM - 3:30 PM
2nd shift: M-F 3:00 PM - 1:30 AM (additional $3.50/hr shift differential)
3rd shift: M-F 11:00 PM - 7:30 AM (additional $3.50/hr shift differential)
A manufacturing and production facility in Camden, NJ is seeking qualified applicants for the position of CNC Machine Operator. This role is responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring CNC Mills and Lathes to ensure high-quality, precision machining of components. The position requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to work within a structured quality management system.
The CNC Machine Operator will collaborate with production teams, engineers, and quality control personnel to ensure all parts meet required specifications and tolerances.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent required
2-Year Technical Degree or completion of a relevant apprenticeship program required (or equivalent experience and on-the-job training)
3–5 years of professional CNC machining experience required; 5+ years preferred
Experience with CNC machinery and programming required
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with Fanuc and Siemens 840D controls
Understanding of various metal types and machining characteristics
Ability to perform basic preventative maintenance on machines and tools
Responsibilities:
Set up CNC Mill & Lathe machines using provided programs, fixtures, and tool lists
Adjust machine settings to ensure optimal performance and quality
Monitor feed and speed of machines throughout the machining process
Perform in-process inspections using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and bore gauges
Maintain documentation of inspections and report deviations or defects
Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions
Set and manage tools, assess tool life and wear
Apply basic Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles
Load raw materials into machines and verify proper alignment
Conduct machine warm-ups and complete safety checks before operation
Continuously monitor machine operations, making real-time adjustments as needed
Maintain accurate records of production output, scrap, and rework
Ensure tools and equipment are clean, calibrated, and properly stored
Participate in team meetings and provide feedback on process improvements
Report mechanical issues or potential failures immediately
Follow all safety protocols and maintain a secure work environment
