Legal Assistant – Architecture & Engineering Practice Group
Location: Chicago, IL
Experience Required: Minimum 10 years, including commercial litigation
We are seeking an experienced Legal Assistant to support our Architecture and
Engineering (A&E) practice group in Chicago. This is a full-time position ideal for a highly organized, detail-oriented individual with at least 10 years of experience—commercial litigation experience is required, and prior exposure to A&E matters is highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
- Draft and edit legal correspondence and court filings
- File pleadings with both state and federal courts
- Coordinate depositions and maintain litigation calendars
- Assist with the preparation and service of discovery and motion filings
- Maintain case files and handle document management
- Arrange attorney travel, process expense reports, and handle time entry
Requirements:
- Extensive knowledge of federal and state court rules and filing procedures
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel); Adobe Acrobat experience is a plus
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities
- Capable of working independently and collaboratively within a team
- Experience supporting litigation attorneys; A&E litigation exposure is strongly preferred
Compensation & Benefits:
- Salary: $64,000 – $82,000 annually (based on experience)
