Job Details for 2nd Shift Foundry Supervisor:
SCHEDULE: Monday to Friday 3pm to 11pm
Pay Rate: $65,000 -$75,000 Depending on experience
Job Responsibilities & Description for2nd Shift Foundry Supervisor:
- Oversee production of the daily schedule for 2nd shift and make necessary changes due to production or customer demands.
- Maintain schedules for hourly employees, and make necessary changes, based upon available employees.
- Plan, assign, and direct work of employees assigned for supervisory purposes.
- Manage transactions and create packets as necessary for production flow.
- Maintain daily operations of shift to ensure customer specifications and requirements.
- Manage, plan, and direct activities to achieve production, quality, scrap, and safety goals.
- Evaluate and assist in implementing cost cutting, productivity, and efficiency methods.
- Direct, lead, and execute strategies to ensure sustainable results that meet or exceed financial and operational targets. Carry out the directives of the Vice President of Operations in a professional and timely manner.
- Ensure monthly safety, delivery, quality, production, inventory, and financial metrics.
- Prioritize projects and coordinate activities with other shifts and departments and organizations within and outside the organization.
- Maintain an open-door policy for all employees.
- Review performance, reward, and discipline employees, as appropriate.
- Address employee concerns, resolve issues, and work to resolve problems and implement corrective action, as needed.
- Enforce established work rules and operating policies consistent with Ashland Foundry & Machine Works LLC’s vision and mission.
- Interview and train employees on 2nd shift.
- Create safety awareness by actively observing, auditing, and coaching safe work behaviors and conditions.
- Ensure compliance with safety and environmental rules and regulations.
- Ensure proper execution of policies and procedures within areas of responsibility.
- Must have good attendance and be reliable.
- All other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements for2nd Shift Foundry Supervisor:
- Knowledge of metal casting process.
- Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
- Knowledge of business and management principles involved in resource allocation, leadership, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
- Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
- Ability to communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors and senior managers, as well as employees.
- Ability to operate a personal computer and secure information from established data processing, spreadsheet, word processing, database and graphics programs.
- Ability to express ideas and communicate orally and in writing.
- Ability to read, write, speak, understand, or communicate in English sufficiently to perform the duties of this position. American Sign Language or Braille may also be considered as acceptable forms of communication.
