Job Details for Environmental Health and Safety Specialist:
Schedule: Monday – Friday 7:00am-4:00pm
Pay Rate: $ 75,000
Job Responsibilities & Description for Environmental Health and Safety Specialist:
• Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local safety, health, and environmental regulations. Promote safe work practices and environmental stewardship.
• Develop, implement, and enhance safety and environmental programs. Conduct regular audits to assess program effectiveness and compliance.
• Provide technical support and safety training to staff. Participate in safety committee meetings and initiatives.
• Prepare and maintain regulatory reports including TRI Reporting, Form R and 25R, Annual Tier II Chemical Reporting, and others as required.
• Manage environmental testing and permits, including air quality and stormwater testing. Ensure compliance with environmental permits and hazardous waste regulations.
• Lead accident investigations, root cause analyses, and implement corrective actions. Monitor and address accident trends to prevent future incidents.
• Liaise with regulatory agencies on compliance matters. Maintain open communication with plant leadership regarding safety and environmental issues.
• Other Duties: Perform additional tasks to support environmental, health, and safety initiatives as assigned.
Job Requirements for Environmental Health and Safety Specialist:
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or related field.
• Experience: Three to five years of experience in EHS, ideally in manufacturing or similar industries. Experience with safety program development and regulatory compliance is essential.
